Each week Youth Trust practitioners run group support sessions that focus on specific areas of mental health and wellbeing to help parents and carers best support their young people. These sessions are free to attend.
- Anxiety Information Session for Parents and Carers (Sponsored by Cherry Godfrey) – This session focuses on helping you support your young person with their anxiety. The techniques covered in these sessions will support with identifying the signs and symptoms of anxiety and will support with social anxiety, phobias and school refusal.
- Supporting your Child With Low Mood – This session will centre around ways of supporting your young person with their low mood and yourself. The techniques covered within this session will support with identifying the signs and symptoms, conversation starters, triggers and how to positively support your child.
- Understanding Self-Harm – This session will centre around ways of understanding and supporting your young person who self-harm and yourself. The techniques covered within this session will support with why your child may self-harm, different types of self-harm, what parents/carers can do and signposting to helpful organisations, websites and resources.
- Emerging OCD – Covering obsessions & compulsions and what they are, causes of OCD, supporting someone with signs of OCD, & information on various treatment styles.
Sessions are run on a Wednesday afternoon 1pm – 2pm and there is always the opportunity for discussion and to ask questions.
